Steel is a weight business sold in pieces. You buy coil by the tonne, cut it into sheets, sell it by the piece or the metre, and lose a few kilos at every step. Any ERP that cannot hold all of those units at once will give you a stock figure nobody believes.
The stakes are rising. India produced 170.15 million tonnes of crude steel in FY2025-26 against capacity of 220.4 million tonnes, and the National Steel Policy targets 300 million tonnes of capacity by 2030-31. Exports rose 36% in the first ten months of FY26, with the EU as the largest market. That matters because the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism moved into its definitive phase in January 2026, and buyers there now want emissions data tied to what you ship.
At home, the safeguard duty on flat steel imports fell from 12% to 11.5% in April 2026 and drops to 11% in April 2027. Quality control orders still cover dozens of steel standards. In the Gulf, construction demand swings with project awards, and the UAE moves to mandatory e-invoicing on 1 January 2027.
Few Odoo partners publish real steel work. We searched hard. Here are five worth a call, with ourselves first and our reasons stated.
How we chose
We looked for steel or metal processing references, features for heat and lot traceability, weight-based units and scrap, and delivery in India or the GCC. Claims for other firms are as they publish them.
1. ochre.digital (Noida, Gurgaon, Mumbai)
ochre.digital brings the same promise to every project: a fixed price for a fixed scope, adoption before features, and a return you can measure in the first year. We do not sell prepaid Success Pack hours unless the client wants them.
The steel-relevant work is in our published cases. For a precision spring and wire-form manufacturer, every lot is traced from wire coil to dispatch and back, and cost is built from actual machine time. For a quarry and crushing group, the weighbridge feeds Odoo directly, one input splits into several graded outputs through the BOM, and e-invoices and e-way bills are issued from the same record. Those are the building blocks of a rolling mill or a steel service centre: weight capture, by-product splits, lot genealogy and costing that matches the floor.
We start with stock, purchase, sales and accounting on real data. Heat numbers, mill test certificates and yield tracking come next, once the stores team trusts the system.
Best for: steel processors, wire and pipe makers and fabricators that want a firm number and a partner who has already solved weight and traceability on Odoo.
2. Ksolves India (Noida)
Ksolves is a large, listed Odoo practice that describes itself as a Gold partner. Its metal and steel fabrication page is the most complete feature list we found from an Indian partner: heat number traceability, mill certificates, offcut and remnant tracking, job BOMs and costing, and quality aligned to EN 1090 and ISO 9001.
Best for: larger fabricators. It does not name a steel client publicly, so ask for one.
3. Zolute Consulting (Indore, Dubai)
Zolute publishes GCC steel pages, including one for pipe and tube makers in Sharjah that covers coil and billet lots, routing through slitting, welding, galvanising and testing, and pressure and coating checks.
Best for: UAE steel processors. The page describes the approach rather than a named client, so ask for references.
4. KoderXpert Technologies (Gandhinagar)
KoderXpert is a Ready partner and the only firm we found with a named Indian steel client on Odoo: Bhagwati Iron, with ten Odoo modules rolled out in seven phases on one database.
Best for: small and mid-sized Gujarat mills. The published case does not cover heat numbers or scrap.
5. Ahex Technologies (Hyderabad)
Ahex is an Odoo-listed partner whose published work includes a Mumbai metal products manufacturer, with manufacturing, inventory and sales customised across several locations and a full data migration.
Best for: metal product makers that need a compact team. Steel-specific features are not shown.
What to test in the demo
- Buy a coil in tonnes, slit it, and sell the sheets by piece. Does the stock still balance?
- Attach a mill test certificate to a heat and trace it to a customer invoice.
- Book scrap and by-products at realistic values.
- Show emissions or energy data per tonne for an EU shipment.
- Quote a fixed price, with exclusions in writing.
Then look at licences. Odoo 20 added a Light User for shop floor, barcode and attendance work at ₹195 a month in India, against ₹580 for a Standard user in year one. Weighbridge and stores operators often qualify. Check your numbers on our Odoo pricing calculator.
The bottom line
Steel punishes vague implementations. Insist on a demo with your own units, your own scrap and your own certificates. If you want that demo on a fixed-price plan, talk to us. Our guides to Odoo partners for manufacturing in India and construction in India and the GCC cover your customers’ side of the market.
